At a meeting in Hanoi on Friday with representatives of news agencies of the Asia-Pacific region, Prime Minister Phuc applauded the role of journalism, including news agencies in boosting social development and solidarity and friendship between nations and peacemaking. He said media outlets need to modernize its working methods and news production in the digital era.

Aslan Aslanov, President of the 44th Meeting of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), said the meeting, which is taking place in Hanoi, is a forum to boost bilateral and multilateral cooperation between media agencies. He added participants to the meeting discussed ways to deal with fake news and fact-checking, and improve trust in mainstream news.
