Vietnam, Egypt boost cooperation between capital cities

(VOVWORLD) -  Vietnam and Egypt have a traditional relationship and great potential to promote cooperation in various fields, which is a solid foundation for Hanoi and Cairo to establish friendship and cooperative relations, said Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of Hanoi's Party Committee.

He made the statement at a working session with Cairo Governor Khaled Adel A’al during his visit to Egypt from October 15-19.

Phong expressed his hope that the Cairo Governor will pay attention to and support the two sides towards signing a document to establish a cooperative relationship.

He urged the two capital cities to promote exchange activities and delegations at all levels and organise cultural and art exchange events to raise the level of bilateral cooperation.

The Governor of Cairo appreciated Mr. Phong's proposals, affirming that Cairo is ready to coordinate closely with Hanoi in various fields.
