(VOVworld)- A seminar promoting trade and investment opportunities in the Vietnamese market was held in Alexandria, Egypt, on Thursday, attracting representatives from 20 Egyptian businesses. Vietnamese ambassador to Egypt, Dao Thanh Chung, shared information on Vietnam’s economy, its advantages and difficulties, and proposed measures to promote economic and trade ties between the two nations. Ambassador Chung said Vietnamese farm produce, seafood, and consumer goods can penetrate the Egyptian market, and in return, Vietnam can import Egyptian cotton, fertilizer, medicines, and chemicals.  Egypt’s participation in the Arab Free Trade Area and Vietnam’s membership in ASEAN will create favorable conditions for businesses in both nations. Ambassador Chung highlighted the huge potential for business cooperation. The two sides agreed to set up a column discussing the Vietnamese market on the website of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.
