(VOVworld) – An international conference took place in Hanoi on Thursday to find ways to improve the efficiency of agricultural cooperation, for better international integration.

The event evaluated opportunities and challenges for Vietnam’s exports of farm produce, which will be particularly important when Vietnam joins the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement.

Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son addressed the opening ceremony stating that the agricultural sector has made great contributions to national socio-economic development.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh said international integration will offer new opportunities and challenges for the Vietnamese economy including the agricultural sector.

Doanh said: “agriculture is a key to Vietnam’s international integration and its integration into regional organizations and multi-lateral and bilateral forums. Vietnam has moved cooperation in agriculture and rural development toward trade increase and sustainable growth.”
