Vietnam free from community infection of COVID-19 for 52 days

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reported no new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, marking 52 consecutive days without domestic infections, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

As many as 307, or 93.3 percent, of the 329 patients have recovered. The remaining 22 patients are undergoing treatment at centrally-run and provincial hospitals across Vietnam and are in a stable health condition.

According to worldometers.info, as of Sunday morning, the world confirmed more than 6.9 million cases and more than 400,000 deaths. The US remains the worst hit country with nearly 2 million infections and more than 110,000 deaths.
