Vietnam, Germany cooperate in bomb, mine clearance

(VOVworld) – Germany will continue its assistance to Vietnam in bomb and mine clearance, which has proved effective since 1998.

Ina Lepel, Director-General for Global Affairs of the German Federal Foreign Office, made the pledge on Monday while receiving Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Head of the State Steering Committee on the National Action Program on Settling Consequences of Unexploded Ordnance. Vinh appreciated Germany’s assistance and expressed his hope that bilateral cooperation in clearing bombs and mines will be strengthened at all levels with more sectors involved. 

During his trip to Germany, Vinh worked with the German Federal Ministry of Defense.
