(VOVworld) - Deputy Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN Pham Quang Hieu has hailed the central role played by the UN in combating terrorism. He made the commendation at a meeting of the Legal Committee to discuss ways to eliminate international terrorism during the UN General Assembly’s 68th session in New York early this week.

Hieu reiterated Vietnam’s determination to fight terrorism, then called for international cooperation in this fight and an early adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.

Hieu took this occasion to introduce Vietnam’s Anti-Terrorism Law passed by Vietnam’s National Assembly last June.
