Vietnam, India coast guards meet on strengthening cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -Coast guard delegations of Vietnam and India have applauded results of their cooperation, saying high level delegation exchanges, ship visits, joint exercises, and training courses organized by the Indian Coast Guard have strengthened bilateral cooperation, improved interoperability, capacity, and the experience of the two forces.

A delegation of Vietnam Coast Guard officers led by Major General Ngo Binh Minh, Commander of Coast Guard Region 3, attend the 5th High-level Meeting on Tuesday in New Delhi. The Indian side was led by Inspector General Anupam Rai, Deputy Director General of Operations and Coastal Security.

After the bilateral meeting, the two sides will report to their superiors to continue cooperation activities in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2015.

They will include ship visits, exchanges, and joint non-combat exercises at sea, exercises and training courses in India, sharing information on search, rescue, and law enforcement at sea, and organizing the 6th bilateral meeting in Vietnam.
