Vietnam is committed to holding inflation to single digits

(VOVworld) A regular government press briefing for January held in Hanoi on Saturday acknowledged that ministries, sectors and localities have done a great job to implement government resolutions and decrees on price stabilization, market development and preparation for the traditional lunar new year.

Minister, Chairman of the Government office, Vu Duc Dam said that socio-economy experienced stable and positive developments. Despite the year-end buying power, January’s CPI increased only 1% compared to last month. “The government is committed to holding inflation at single digits and an appropriate growth rate by using relevant economic tools. To this end, there require joint efforts by all sectors at all levels, particularly businesses,” Dam talked about the coming tasks.
Minister Vu Duc Dam and representatives from the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Information and Communication, and the State Bank have answered reporters’ questions about state investment restructuring, bank liquidity, the merge of commercial banks, and reducing bank interest and CPI”.
