Vietnam, Japan enhance information and communication co-operation

(VOVworld) – Vietnam is ready to co-operate with Japan in ensuring internet security, said Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son at a Tuesday meeting with Japan’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Sanae Takaichi. Mr Son called for enhanced co-operation in building e-government, postal service, and TV broadcasting.

Ms Takaichi pledged that her Ministry will continue to provide training programs for Vietnam and will collaborate with the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) and Japan’s Foreign Ministry to give Official Development Assistance to information security projects in Vietnam. The two ministers agreed to maintain a dialogue in sharing information and management experience and exert more efforts to promote co-operation between businesses in this sector.
After the meeting, the two leaders witnessed a signing ceremony of two memorandums of understanding between Vietnam’s Authority of Radio Frequency Management and Japan’s Frequency Management Office and between the Vietnam Post Corporation and the Japan Post Corporation. On Wednesday, Mr Son co-chaired a forum on promoting investment in information technology and communication.
