Vietnam, Kazakhstan are good friends in new development path, says President Vo Van Thuong

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Kazakhstan proudly cherish their enduring friendship, solidarity, and cooperation which has grown steadily over the years, President Vo Van Thuong said as he hosted a banquet in Hanoi on Monday evening in honor of visiting Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The two leaders reached a consensus on significant avenues to bolster bilateral cooperation.

President Thuong expressed his optimism that collaborative documents and agreements signed during this visit will be effectively implemented by both sides.

The Kazakh President’s visit to Vietnam has bolstered the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, Thuong said, adding that both Vietnam and Kazakhstan have a similar proverb that emphasizes the importance of companionship and unity.
President Tokayev voiced his desire to connect with 30 developed nations globally in an article commemorating the 175th birthday of Kazakh great philosopher Abai. Vietnam envisions itself as a steadfast friend and reliable partner to all nations, holding a position within the top 20 economies in terms of trade, President Thuong said, adding that with all the necessary elements in place, both countries have the potential to cultivate strong friendships throughout this new era of development.

President Tokayev said that Kazakhstan considers Vietnam a key partner in Southeast Asia. He said that today marks a new chapter in the Kazakhstan-Vietnam relationship. Abundant potential awaits us, and there is a substantial amount of work ahead, he added. 

Tokayev extended an invitation to President Vo Van Thuong of Vietnam for a state visit to Kazakhstan in mid-June of next year which he said he is eagerly anticipating this visit and is enthusiastic about engaging closely with Mr. Thuong to fortify the ties between the two nations. He said he is committed to facilitating every necessary condition for the mutual relationship to flourish.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev left Hanoi at noon on Tuesday, concluding his three-day official visit to Vietnam.
