Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have agreed to step up cooperation in green technology and climate change initiatives and exchange specialists and staff in the field. At the Vietnamese and Korean Environment Ministers conference in Hanoi today/on Monday, Vietnam’s Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment Nguyen Minh Quang said that the conference is an opportunity for Korean businesses to increase their foreign directly invested projects to achieve targets for more technologies, environmental protection and coping with climate change. At the meeting, the Korean experts used their experiences to show Vietnam how to revise its 2005 Law on Environmental Protection, and implement the newly approved National Target Program to deal with environmental pollution. The two ministers witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement to enhance the legal framework and carry out operations to restore polluted land and underground water supplies for the next 5 years. As part of the conference, a Vietnamese – Korean business forum on green technologies also took place.
