(VOVworld) – Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak began his official visit to Vietnam on Thursday.

Talking to media on this occasion, Foreign Minister Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman said the visit aims to enhance the warm and friendly bilateral relations that exist between Malaysia and Vietnam. He said the relations will be further boosted at the highest levels in efforts to encourage more cooperation, visits of officials, and people-to-people contacts.

According to Minister Aman, Vietnam and Malaysia as neighbors and members of ASEAN have many areas on which to focus their cooperation. During this visit, the two countries will sign a memorandum of understanding on agriculture cooperation.

Aman said Malaysia appreciates Vietnam’s help in the effort to locate missing flight MH370 from the very start of the incident, particularly when it was believed that the aircraft had crashed into the East Sea.
