(VOVworld)- Vietnam and Malaysia have agreed to increase the exchange of parliamentarian delegations to share legislative experience. At a meeting in Malaysia this week with Than Duc Nam, Deputy Head of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Office, President of the Malaysian Senate Abu Zahar Ujang hailed the cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially in human resources training, labour, economy, education, defence and crime prevention. He said two-way trade between the two countries has developing rapidly in recent time, hitting 5.4 billion USD in the first half of this year. Nam informed his host of Vietnam’s preparations for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, scheduled for March 2015 in Hanoi. He expressed his wish that Malaysia will send a delegation to this event. Nam said he hopes that the two nations will further enhance ties between their legislatures and soon complete necessary preparations for the upgrading of their relations to a strategic partnership.
