Vietnam offers sympathy to India over fireworks accident

(VOVworld) -  Vietnam was very sad about the recent fireworks-related accident in India’s southern Kerala state which claimed hundreds of lives and injured dozens more said Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh on Sunday.

Binh said in reply to a reporter’s query that Vietnam shares the sorrow of the Indian government and people and the families of the victims.

He noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Vietnamese Embassy in India to promptly confirm whether there are any Vietnamese victims in the accident. The embassy says there has been no information so far about any harm to Vietnamese citizens.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh extended his condolences to Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
