(VOVworld) - With a desire to make practical contributions to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)’s efforts and development, the Vietnamese National Assembly has officially offered to host the IPU Assembly in 2015. At a reception for IPU Secretary General Anders B. Johnsson in Hanoi on Wednesday, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said Vietnam has actively participated in and successfully organized several international events including the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum APEC, the Asia Europe Meeting and activities within ASEAN. Chairman Hung said Vietnam is actively completing its preparation schemes to be submitted to the IPU Secretariat for approval and will do its best to make it a success.

The IPU Secretary General said he believed that with its favorable conditions, Vietnam will successfully organise the special international event.
