(VOVworld)- As the National Coordinating Agency for ASEAN Cooperation, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting on Tuesday to review ASEAN’s cooperation in 2014 and set out tasks for 2015. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and attended by representatives of 20 ministries and sectors that participate in ASEAN cooperation. In 2014, Vietnam contributed to ASEAN cooperation and promoting solidarity, consensus and the central role of ASEAN in addressing major challenges in the region, especially in the East Sea. Vietnam also participated in the implementation of the Master Plan on Building ASEAN’s Politics-Security Community. Vietnam contributed to enhancing economic connectivity and initiated measures to boost cooperation in social security, environment, climate change and ensuring the rights of migrant workers. In 2015, Vietnam will focus on fostering the establishment of the ASEAN Community, participate in mapping out the Vision of the ASEAN Community post 2015 and Master Plans to implement the Vision. Vietnam will continue to promote solidarity, consensus and the central role of ASEAN in maintaining peace, stability, security and cooperation in the region.
