She recommended strengthening the UN’s role in implementing sustainable development goals, establishing regional networks to tackle non-traditional security issues, revising Constitution, and improving the efficiency of legislation and governance to minimize inequality. Developed countries should support developing countries, transfer technology for economic, culture, social, and environmental development, and build indicators to assess equality and inequality, Ms. Phong said.
She added that the IPU should promote cooperative mechanisms with the UN and other international organizations to reduce inequality and enhance communications to improve people’s understanding of their rights and duties.
