Vietnam reports 35 new COVID-19 cases, Hanoi suspends golf course operation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reports an additional 35 cases of COVID-19 in the past 12 hours as of 6 am on Thursday, 33 of which were detected in quarantine facilities, according to the Ministry of Health.

There were two imported cases, one in Long An and one in An Giang province. They were put under quarantine upon arrival.

Vietnam has documented 2,213 domestically-transmitted infections, and 1,445 imported cases so far. As many as 643 new cases were recorded since the latest outbreak hit the nation on April 27. The country has seen 2,636 recoveries. The death toll remains 35. 

Hanoi has suspended sports activities with large gatherings and operations of golf courses and golf clubs from 12 noon on Thursday until further notice, according to a document of the city’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control issued on Thursday.
