Vietnam responds to international convention on nuclear security and safely

(VOVworld)- The 4th Nuclear Security Summit has successfully ended in the US. Speaking to the Vietnam News Agency about the outcomes of the summit, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc said world leaders reiterated their political commitments to preventing the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and promoting nuclear energy use for peaceful purposes.

In the previous summits in Washington in 2010, Seoul in 2012, and the Hague in 2014, Vietnam contributed proactively to the international community’s efforts in the prevention and disarmament of nuclear weapons. At the Summit, Vietnam reiterated its commitments. Ngoc said Vietnam was determined to pursue political commitments and seriously implement international conventions on nuclear security and safety. Vietnam will sign international agreements with other countries to promote the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Vietnam’s efforts have been internationally recognized.
