Ambassador Vinh called on investors to expand their investments in Vietnam’s offshore oil and gas exploitation based on mutual benefit and pursuant to international law and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
This was the first time Vietnam has been invited to address an OTC plenary session, an annual event gathering the world’s largest oil and gas corporations.
Ambassador Vinh also attended a reception hosted by Vietnam’s Consulate-General in Houston and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and a talk with US leading energy firms.
He expressed his belief that the improving political and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US will fuel bilateral co-operation in economics, trade, and energy.
