Vietnam, Slovakia look for stronger relations

(VOVworld) – On Friday a Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai attended the Vietnam-Slovakia economic cooperation forum in Bratislava.

During his visit to Slovakia from Thursday to Saturday, Mr. Hai met with Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico, Vice President of the Parliament Jana Lassakova, and Deputy Prime Minister Lubomir Vazny. The two countries agreed to tap their strengths to promote socio-economic development, and pledged closer cooperation in auxiliary industries like automotive assembly, healthcare, and tourism. They agreed to exploit opportunities brought by the Vietnam-EU free trade agreement, the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community, and the Trans-Pacific Agreement, to boost trade cooperation between Vietnam and Slovakia and the European Union; and between Slovakia and other ASEAN and Asia Pacific countries.
