Vietnam, Switzerland boost cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue said Vietnam wishes to promote cooperation with Switzerland in all fields for practical benefits.

During his ongoing visit to Switzerland on Wednesday in Bern, Mr. Hue and Swiss Minister of Economics, Training and Research Johann Schneider Amman agreed to strengthen trade and investment promotion for bilateral cooperate ties as well as education cooperation. In a meeting with the Chairwoman of the Swiss Lower House’s Committee for Economics and Tax, Susanne Leutenegger Oberholzer, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the effectiveness of Swiss-sponsored projects in Vietnam’s social economic development and international integration. Both pledged to boost people diplomacy and cultural exchanges.  The Deputy Prime Minister and the members of Swiss Lower House agreed to speed up negotiation of a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). Mr. Hue will visit international organizations in Geneva, Belgium, and Slovakia by next Thursday.
