Vietnam takes steps against Zika virus

(VOVworld) - Vietnam has recorded no cases of Zika fever so far but there is a high risk that the virus may spread to Vietnam. The Ministry of Health has urged local and central health officials to enhance quarantine procedures at international border crossings to detect, isolate, and treat Zika carriers.

The World Health Organization reported on Sunday that the Zika virus has spread to 30 countries and territories, mainly in the Americas. The Organization is studying the relationship between the Zika virus and infants with abnormally small heads and brains (microcephaly) which has also seen a dramatic increase lately.
