(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has underscored the need to turn Vietnam into a learning society, but in an integrative, creative, and sustainable manner.

At a national workshop in Hanoi on Tuesday, Mr. Dam said building a learning society should ensure adaptability and allow every citizen to benefit from study. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said:

We are developing a learning society for all but it should match each individual beneficiary as well as the Party’s viewpoints. The government is concerned about disadvantaged and easily vulnerable people, with top priority given to women, ethnic minority people, and those in disaster-prone areas. I think we should outline measures to build a learning society but encourage creativity to serve national development.

Workshop delegates listened to experiences from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore. They also discussed ways to help more people learn while working, and master-plan for life-long study in Vietnam.
