To date, 7.8 million square meters of social housing has been built, Mr. Chinh said, but that has satisfied only part of the need. The need for more housing for low-income workers is urgent.

According to Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the Ministry intends to complete all 156 projects that have been launched and by 2025 to have built 157,000 social apartments.

1 million social apartments for workers in industrial parks will be built by 2030.
