Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang told the press on Thursday: 'For official recognition, foreign vaccine passports must meet the criteria for recognition and utility approved by the government. In particular, Vietnam accepts vaccines endorsed by the WHO, the US CDC or the European Medicines Agency and the Vietnamese Ministry of Health’s licensing for emergency use. The vaccine passports must be simultaneously issued in electronic format and hard copy with verification code. Issuing countries must have high safety ratio and widespread vaccination level”.

The Deputy Spokeswoman announced a list of countries and vaccine passport recognition samples, which will be regularly updated on the Ministry’s Consulate webpage. Vietnam is considering the expansion of migrants eligible for entry and proper timing for resumption of commercial flights. The Vietnamese Government has agreed on a pilot roadmap to welcome foreign tourists to Vietnam in stages. Piloted locations should accelerate their vaccination coverage for community immunity and future closed tours for foreign tourists.
