(VOVworld) – Vietnam wants to boost parliamentary cooperation with Uruguay, said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung while receiving Speaker of Uruguay’s Chamber of Representatives Anibal Pereyra during his ongoing visit to Vietnam. Chairman Hung called on both legislative bodies to continue cooperating on the implementation of signed agreements, step up delegation exchanges, and support each other in international parliamentarian forums, especially at the International Parliamentary Union (IPU). Mr. Pereyra said Uruguay always supports Vietnam and that his visit to Vietnam aims to consolidate the two countries’ fine bilateral friendship. He pledged his efforts to tighten relations between Vietnam and Uruguay, and between their legislative bodies, saying that Asia, including Vietnam, has a strategic position in Uruguay’s integration and development.
