Vietnam, US discuss intellectual property rights

(VOVworld) - Policymakers and industry experts of Vietnam and the US play an important role in finding a way to improve the current implementation of intellectual property rights. The statement was made by US Ambassador to Vietnam David Shear at Thursday’s discussion of intellectual property rights practices in Vietnam.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Quoc Khanh highlighted the need to protect intellectual property rights, particularly now that Vietnam has joined the World Trade Organization and accelerated Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement negotiations. He said Vietnam needs the support and experience of countries like the US in refining its legal framework to strengthen intellectual property rights practices.
