Vietnam, US sign MoU on culture and public affairs cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, who was in the US for a working visit, met Elizabeth Allen, US Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cultural cooperation and public affairs in Washington DC on Wednesday.

During their meeting, Allen said the US government values and gives priority to concretizing the new relationship framework, that will bring practical benefits to both sides. She added the US will continue to prioritize resources to implement cooperation projects and programs with Vietnam in culture, education, and people-to-people relations.

Vice President Xuan proposed that the US Department of State coordinate closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant ministries of Vietnam to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership framework and other cultural cooperation, education and public affairs activities.

She called on Allen to continue to pay attention to putting cooperation agreements into concrete implementation, emphasizing cooperation and exchange activities in literature, art, libraries, museums, heritage preservation, student exchange, connecting universities and educational organizations of the two countries.
