Vietnam, US ties strengthened

At a meeting with US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc E.Knapper in Hanoi on Thursday, Chairman Hue said Vietnam wants to boost cooperation with the US’s political parties, government, and legislature. He said the two countries have great potential to further bilateral ties. Mr. Hue asked the Ambassador and the US Embassy in Vietnam  to  help increase delegation exchanges between the two countries’ leaders.

Ambassador Marc E.Knapper said strengthening bilateral ties is one of his major tasks along with the implementation of commitments and agreements to boost the partnership between the two countries. He said the US's legislature pays special attention to Vietnam-US ties and he wants to play a role not just in bilateral ties but also in cooperation between the two legislatures.

On the occasion, Ambassador Marc E.Knapper said the House of Representatives is accelerating the establishment of the US-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Groups.
