Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Minister Barkat said since the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries have created a great potential to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields. Both countries are seeking global co-operation through FTAs around the world and the two governments are aware of the enormous collaboration opportunities.

Minister Barkat said that VIFTA, which was signed in Tel Aviv on July 25, is evidence of the sound bilateral relationship. He expressed his belief that the deal is expected to open up plenty of opportunities to both economies.

The Israeli Minister noted that the early opening of a direct flight between the two countries will mark “a major breakthrough” in bilateral ties, resulting in the rapid growth of tourism and trade co-operation and other areas. Simultaneously, many Vietnamese products will be exported to Israel and many Israeli technologies will be brought into Vietnam.

The Minister proposed the two countries strengthen cooperation in high technology, homeland security, Industry 4.0 technology, health care-life science, agricultural technology as well as food and tourism.
