(VOVworld) – Spokesman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Le Hai Binh, said on Friday Vietnam welcomed the US Senate’s Resolution 412 that requested China to withdraw oil rig Haiyang 981 and escort forces from the current position and not conduct activities against international law to prevent ramming and hitting in the sea.
The resolution is firmly opposed to coercion, intimidation, threats, or the use of force in the Asia-Pacific. Mr. Binh said Vietnam called on countries including the US to contribute practically, effectively, and constructively to peace, stability, security, and freedom of navigation in the region.
