Vietnam wins two gold medals at International Mathematics Olympiad

(VOVWORLD) - All six members of the Vietnamese team participating in the 61st International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) won a prize, including two gold medals.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced Sunday the Vietnamese team finished 17th out of 105 teams.

The 61st IMO, hosted online by Russia, attracted more than 600 competitors from 105 countries and territories.

The success of Vietnam’s IMO team wrapped up a successful regional and global Olympiad season for Vietnam, with all 24 of its student competitors winning prizes - nine golds, eight silvers, five bronzes, and two certificates of merit.
