Vietnam-China trade forum opens in Guangxi

(VOV) - Nearly 300 Vietnamese and Chinese businesses attended the Vietnam-China Economics and Trade Forum as part of the 2012 Vietnam-China People’s Friendship Festival in Liuzhou City in the Chinese province of Guangxi on Sunday.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Liuzhou Deputy Mayor Jiao Yaoguang briefed participants on the socio-economic development situation and the province’s investment policies. Emphasizing the importance of the “Two corridors, one economic belt” cooperation project between Vietnam and China, he expressed hope that businesses of both countries will boost cooperation in such fields as infrastructure, science, technology, food, education, training, and tourism. Vietnamese ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho said the forum was of great significance as it offered an opportunity for businesses of both countries to strengthen cooperation, contributing to developing cooperative relations for the benefit of both sides. He said both countries have great potential for trade and investment cooperation, especially in agriculture, transportation, manufacturing industry and support services for the development of the economic belt.
