Vietnamese girl wins first prize at international piano contest in US

(VOVWORLD) -Seven-year-old Tran Bang Tam of Hanoi won first prize at the 2018 American Protégé Piano and Strings Competition.

Tam, a student at the Newton Grammar School in Hanoi, was the second youngest contestant in the competition. As the winner, she was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City last week.

The girl started learning to play the piano at four years old and has won a number of domestic and international awards, including first prize at the Grand Virtuoso Contest in Italy in 2017, third prize at the 2018 Rising Star Competition in Germany, and first prize at the Grand Virtuoso Contest in Austria in 2018.
