The promotion is part of a campaign to build a brand for Vietnamese U Hong lychee.

Ly Hoang Duy, CEO of 4 Ways Fresh, an Australia-based company specialising in the production and trade of Vietnamese agricultural products, said all golden lychees were sold in the first day in Western Australia, adding that the situation will likely be the same in Adelaide.

“U Hong lychees which always ripe early are now available in the markets in Adelaide but local customers have also required to import Thieu lychee, a specialty fruit of Bac Giang province. We already have a plan to import all kinds of Vietnamese lychees till the end of the lychee season. In the coming weeks, we will increase the import volume of up to 30 tons a week,” said Duy.

U Hong lychee is known for its distinctive yellowish skin and fresh sweetness.
