(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese lantern festival 2023, organized by the Australian Vietnamese Family Association (AVFA) in Australia’s Northern Territory, provides a chance for both locals and tourists to discover Vietnamese culture.

A cultural space modeled after the Hoi An Ancient Town of Vietnam was set up and featured hundreds of traditional lanterns of all colors, shapes, and sizes.
Lion dances, musical performances, and booths offering Vietnamese cuisine were also available, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the event.
Both children and adults excitedly joined activities at the event such as lantern making and face painting.
One highlight at the festival was releasing flower lanterns into the sea to express people’s gratitude to the elderly and wishing for peace, happiness and prosperity.
The festival was held in Darwin last Saturday to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic ties.
