Vietnamese leaders send condolences over deadly US school shooting
(VOVWORLD) -President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday sent condolences to US President Joe Biden following a shooting incident that killed 19 students and two teachers of Robb Elementary School in the city of Uvalde, Texas, on May 24.
Officials said the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, was apparently killed by police officers responding to the scene. Before heading to the school, Ramon killed his grandmother with two military-style rifles he purchased on his birthday.
President Joe Biden appeared ready for a fight, calling for new gun restrictions in an address to the nation hours after the attack.
