(VOVworld) - Vietnamese and US veterans have met in Washington to exchange information on war healing efforts. On the occasion of President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to the US, Deputy Chairman of Vietnam Veterans Association, General Tran Khac Dang, praised efforts by US veterans in overcoming war consequences in Vietnam and in searching for missing Vietnamese soldiers. Vietnam has more than half a million fallen soldiers unidentified and the figure from the US side is nearly 2000. Director of the US Veterans Society Rick Weidman said US veterans want to contribute further to overcome the war consequences and that the US government should offer more support in terms of Agent Orange/Dioxin and landmines clearance.
