Vietnamese women respond to Ao Dai Week

(VOVWORLD) - More than 1,000 women in Hanoi’s Gia Lam district joined an ao dai (traditional long dress) parade on Sunday in response to International Women's Day (March 8) and Ao Dai Week.

Vu Thi Thuy, a local resident, said, shes loves to wear an ao dai on holidays and important days of the year, adding, “Every time I see one, I find the woman very charming. I feel honored and excited to join others at the event wearing colorful ao dai.”

A program called "Ao Dai - Vietnamese cultural identity" was held in Da Nang city on Sunday, with a catwalk appearance by Miss Vietnam 2022 Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, followed by a procession of 300 women in traditional ao dai.

In Hai Duong province, an audience was introduced to the history of ao dai, Vietnamese cultural values, and the changing design of ao dai in different periods through collections created by Hanoi and Hai Duong.
