Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee convenes 41st meeting

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Sunday co-chaired the 41st meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee in Hanoi.

They agreed that economic cooperation has progressed with two-way trade revenue in 2018 reached 1billion USD, 14% more than 2017. Vietnamese businesses have invested in 400 projects in Laos worth 4 billion USD.

They have committed to increase bilateral trade by 10%, strengthen cooperation in national defense, security, and diplomacy, and exchange experience on policy-making, macro-economic management, and sustainable development.

The two Prime Ministers assigned their agencies to review and improve business environment and traffic infrastructure and facilitate their businesses. The two governments will pilot teaching Vietnam-Laos history relationship at schools.
