Vietnam-Russia relations to develop further

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son gave an interview to the Voice of Vietnam on the 70th anniversary of the foreign affairs sector on August 28. He said that Vietnam’s diplomatic achievements can be party attributed to the contributions of diplomatic missions abroad. He said that relations between Vietnam and Russia have a firm foundation, reflecting the bonds between their parties, states, and governments: “Vietnam-Russia relations have developed steadily. In addition to people-to-people diplomacy and state-to-state diplomacy, we have applied different channels in an enviroment of integration, including the role of the Soviet Union in Europe.”

Ambassador Son said that in the context of international integration, Vietnam’s foreign affairs sector will continue to adhere to the principle of “from a steady stance, respond to ten thousand changes” while valuing relations with traditional friends and partners including Russia: “A new driving force is being created in Vietnam-Russia relations, which will help consolidate and develop our military capability and train a contingent of Vietnamese scientists and intellectuals to serve our renewal process.”

Ambassador Son said he hoped relations between Vietnam and Russia will continue to expand to new areas of cooperation such as atomic and nuclear energy.
