Vietnam’s 69th National Day marked worldwide

(VOVworld) – Activities to mark the 69th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day took place worldwide. The Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia and Vietnam's Permanent Representative Mission to ASEAN co-organized a special program to celebrate the occasion in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 2nd. Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Xuan Thuy reviewed Vietnam’s achievements in national construction and defense over the past several decades, which contributed to maintaining regional peace and stability and establishing the ASEAN Community by 2015.

At another celebration of the event at the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique on Tuesday, the General Secretary of Mozambique’s Foreign Ministry, Filipe Shidumo, praised Vietnam’s achievements over the past several years and expressed his desire to learn from Vietnam’s experience in socio-economic development and national defense. Secretary General of the ruling Mozambique Liberation Front Party, Eliseu Joaquim Machava, expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people, saying that the two countries will stand side by side in any shared struggles.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the event in Angola, Vietnamese Ambassador Do Ba Khoa said the Vietnamese government and people are determined to protect Vietnam’s sovereignty and territorial integrity Vietnam has a consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, multilateralization, and diversification, in order to become an active, responsible, and reliable partner of the international community. Ambassador Khoa highlighted determination of Vietnamese and Angolan leaders to boost their bilateral friendship and cooperation.
