At a press conference about the upcoming 1st Vietnam Coffee Day, President of the Vietnam Cacao and Coffee Association Luong Van Tu said the coffee sector aims to maintain its second rank in the world in terms of raw coffee production and export and raise its export value to 6 billion USD by 2030. To this end, Mr. Tu stressed the need to mobilize more resources and increase crop productivity and quality: “After 30 years, coffee trees will have to be replaced with new ones. We also need to increase the added value of coffee production to achieve the export target of 6 billion USD instead of the current 3 billion USD. Many foreign investors have invested in coffee production in Vietnam due to the country’s abundant materials and preferential taxes. India’s Tata group has invested 60 million USD in instant coffee production in Vietnam.”

The 1st Vietnam Coffee Day will be held in Da Lat next month.
