Vietnam’s labor export generates 3 billion dollars last year

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam sent more than 140,000 workers to work abroad last year, making it’s the 5th consecutive year surpassing the 100,000 benchmark. The figure is exceeding by 30% of the annual plan. 

The Japanese market witnessed a remarkable growth, receiving 67,000 Vietnamese workers, followed by Chinese Taiwan and South Korea. Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said their remittances last year was more than 3 billion US dollars: “We have seen remarkable growth in quality of guest workers. We have been able to select markets and most relevant work for Vietnamese employees, who then return home to serve their homeland. Their remittances of 3 billion dollars have contributed to Vietnam’s socio-economic growth, the building of new rural areas, job generation and poverty reduction.”
