(VOVworld) – Vietnamese lawyers are urged to fully play their role and recognize their responsibilities in the country’s development.

At a ceremony to mark the 68^th Vietnamese Lawyers’ Day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said lawyers should contribute their utmost to national industrialization, modernization, international integration, judicial reform and building a socialist state governed by law: "In their role, Vietnam’s lawyers should make further contributions to the law-governed activities of the State agencies, making it a dominating factor in all activities of organizations and individuals in all socio-economic areas. In order to achieve that, every lawyer needs to be aware of their role in the process, such as legal procedure, consultation and assistance. It is necessary to continuously improve legal skills and their professional morality in order to perform their work well". 

Prime Minister Dung stressed one important factor for successful integration was to ensure that there were an adequate number of lawyers specialized in trade and investment for legal consultation and proceedings. Dung said lawyers need to be well-equipped with international legal knowledge and foreign language skills in order to help in the process of international integration.
