He told the media on Tuesday in response to a group of Chinese tourists who arrived in Nha Trang City wearing T-shirts featuring a “nine-dash line” map that represents China’s false territorial claim to the East Sea.

Mr. Tuan urged localities to direct tourists and travel agencies to abide by legal regulations. He took the occasion to ask tour operators to learn from the lesson and better monitor visitors.

Mr. Tuan said the “nine-dash line” map seriously threatens Vietnam’s sovereignty. VNAT has called on the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Public Security to jointly address the violation.
