(VOVworld) – Vietnam-Japan relations have always developed well and are expected to grow and flourish in the future in the interests of both nations. Ambassador Doan Xuan Hung said so while presenting his accredited letter to Japanese Crown prince Naruhito yesterday/ on Friday. At an interview with Tokyo-based VOV correspondent, ambassador Hung said the relations between Vietnam and Japan are developing to a strategic partnership, which has seen significant development with cooperation in politics, diplomacy, economics-trade, national defence and security, as well as culture. Japan is now Vietnam’s biggest bilateral Official Development Assistance (ODA) provider and has committed to providing the Southeast Asian nation with US$1.9 billion in 2011. It is also the biggest foreign investor in Vietnam for capital disbursement. Mr. Hung said there is still great potential for developing the bilateral relations for mutual benefit. Mr said" My greatest concern is to promote bilateral ties in different areas in all fields especially implementing the signed agreements between the two countries effectively. The embassy plans to focus their future diplomatic activities on promoting strategic partnership especially for socio-economic development."
