VOV marks 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s Happy New Year poem

(VOVworld) - On Tuesday night, the Voice of Vietnam marked the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s New Year poem. He first recited New Year poem to Vietnamese people at home and abroad on radio in 1947.

President Tran Dai Quang said President Ho Chi Minh’s poems recall the glorious and heroic history of the Vietnamese people and inspire people to a new year full of hope: “Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching, we will continue to successfully implement the resolutions of the 12th Party Congress, the Party resolution on Party building, and promote national construction and defense. Listening to President Ho Chi Minh’s poems, we feel more pride in Vietnam’s tradition and history”.

President Ho Chi Minh began writing New Year poems in 1942. In the spring of 1947, after the national resistance day, President Ho Chi Minh read a poem to wish Vietnamese people a Happy New Year for the first time on the Voice of Vietnam radio.
